October 2026 - Platform Updates

October was a big month. Since our last update we’ve shipped 6 releases, and the theme is making it easier for your supporters to give. In our last email we promised donors would be able to give without an account. That’s live, and we added monthly giving too. Read below. Happy Fundraising!

The Updates

🙌 No-Account Giving

Supporters can now give without creating a GiveGrove account. It works for:

  • Donate Now

  • Fund a Need

  • Voting

Donors enter their card and give. After their gift, they’re offered the option to create an account, but they don’t have to. Fewer steps between a supporter and their gift means more of them follow through.

Silent Auction, Live Auction and Ticketing still require an account. We’re looking at whether those modules should go no-account too, or whether an account still makes the most sense given everything that goes into them. Our goal is to let people buy tickets without an account in the next few months.

🔁 Monthly giving

Your supporters can now turn a one-time gift into a monthly one.

  • A simple choice. Donate Now has a One-time / Monthly toggle.

  • Donor’s schedule. Donors pick their charge day and how long to give: 6, 12 or 24 months, or ongoing.

  • Easy for donors to manage. Supporters can see and manage their monthly gifts from their profile.

  • A receipt every month. Donors get an email receipt for each monthly gift and can download a PDF receipt anytime. If a card payment fails, they get an email with a link to fix it.

  • Year-end ready. Donors can download a yearly giving statement as a PDF or CSV, and their giving history shows each monthly gift with a total for the year.

  • Easy for you to track. A new Recurring Donations page in your admin shows your monthly donors, their status and recent charges, and you can export it all to CSV. You’ll also get an email each time a monthly gift is charged.

Tip: Monthly donors are some of the most loyal supporters an organization can have. Consider mentioning monthly giving from the stage or in your event emails.👋 Try GiveGrove before creating an account

In our July update we said our next major step would let people build an event without an account. That's live. Anyone curious about GiveGrove can now set up an organization, an event, and items with photos, and see how it all looks before signing up. When they're ready, everything they built moves into their new account.

If you know an organization that's been on the fence, this is the easiest way for them to see what GiveGrove can do. Send them our way!

More improvements

🔨 Silent Auction

Recharge Winner, your choice of card. If a winner’s card is declined, you can now choose which of their saved cards to charge instead of retrying the declined one.

Hidden pages still close. If you unpublish your Silent Auction page, winners are still charged when the auction closes, and hidden items are never charged. You’ll also see a reminder that hiding the page doesn’t end bidding.

Better on phones. The Silent Auction admin page now fits on a phone held upright, so the item menu (including Recharge Winner) is always in reach.

🖼️ Sharper banners

Event and organization banners now save at a higher resolution (3000 x 1000), so they look crisp on large and high-resolution screens.

Tip: Banners you uploaded before this change keep their old resolution. If yours looks a little soft, upload it again to get the sharper version.

🧭 Event wizard

The new-event wizard got a cleaner layout, so copying last year’s event is easier to read and use.

📝 Printable bid sheets are ready

Last month we told you our team was testing printable bid sheets. They’re done, and we can make them for your next event.

  • Any module. Silent Auction, Live Auction, Fund a Need, Voting or Tickets.

  • One page per item. Each sheet shows the item’s photo, name and description, ready to set on a table next to the item.

  • Your look. We can use your logo and colors, and choose which details show, like starting bid, market value or who donated it.

If you’d like bid sheets for your upcoming event, reply to this email and our team will put them together for you.

What's next?

Next up, our team is reviewing and updating the Fund a Need module. If you’ve used Fund a Need at your event and have ideas for what would make it work better for you or your donors, reply to this email. We’d love to hear from you.
